Dealing with Defects – AON Meeting 25 September 2018

Priory Hall, Longboat Quay, Brú na Sionna…these are the familiar names of just some of the apartment and multi-unit estates with construction defects.

Our meeting of Tuesday 25 September 2018 will be an exchange of ideas on financial and legal measures for resolution of defects.

Our guest panellists are Ms. Deirdre Ní Fhloinn and Mr. Nicholas Metcalfe.

Deirdre was a contributor to the hearings of the Oireachtas Housing Committee on construction defects. The Committee produced its “Safe as Houses?” report in January 2018. It called for higher building standards, building control, and consumer protection for homeowners who experience defects in their homes. Deirdre is a barrister and PhD candidate at Trinity College Dublin, researching legal remedies for defective housing.

Nick is a Senior Associate with Mason Hayes & Curran Solicitors. He is a solicitor with the firm’s Corporate Governance & Compliance team, specialising in Corporate Law.

The meeting will begin at 7pm sharp.

We will have our usual open forum discussion, during which you can raise issues in your own estate.

Join us for tea, coffee and sandwiches from 6.45pm.

Ensure to complete our Contact Us form to confirm your attendance. Directions to Wood Quay Venue are here.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 25 September
